There are at least
four main requirements for getting around.
- A blue badge for disabled parking
- A bus pass for the more able bodied
- A wheelchair for the less mobile
- A radar key for some disabled toilets
Blue Badges are
available from the Town Hall but they take time to
process so be prepared to wait. You will also need
to provide a passport size photograph with your
application. However it is illegal to use the badge
without the disabled person being in the car. North
Somerset Council does allow parking on some yellow
lines but you must display a blue clock with your
blue badge. A charge is made at some council car
parks so always check when parking.
Bus and Train Passes are
available from the Town Hall. Some buses have a
lowered step to enable easy access, please check
with the bus operator. In our region bus passes
allow disabled people and those over sixty free
travel on all routes. The local council offices will
have an application form which will need a
photograph. Train Passes are available from most
mainline stations.
